Day 14 through 18 are now completed. Completing day 18 today means that I only have 13 more days of the program left. This is definitively a tough exercise program, which only seems to increase in difficulty. With each day, form gets better. Technique get better. And the lungs definitely improves. With each of these improvements, the body takes over and wants to push itself. I welcome this response during the workout, but afterwards, it is another story. Especially after the strength workout.
Day 14 – Relief
This is 24 minutes of stretching. I found my body thanking me after this routine. I understand why it is called, “Relief.”
Day 15 – Speed and Agility
My jump roping skills are improving, but I still have a ways to go. My footwork and skills are much better. Additionally, my speed through the drills is remarkably improved. I feel next the next time I do this workout, I think I will blow it out the park. I will be able to focus on ,ore speed and agility. One frustration is when I do begin to fatigue and kick the ladder with my feet.
Day 16 – Vertical Pylo
My body is still fatigued after this workout. But again, it is a great workout. The challenge going forward is developing the lung capacity to not stop during the individual exercises. This will be difficult because the use of power bands make the exercises much more difficult.
Day 17 – Strength
This program is definitely becoming easier every time. I am getting stronger with my reverse plank and the respective exercises. I almost completed all 3 sets of 8 reps, without stopping, of the power movements where you have 2 dumbbells in each hand, curl the weight up, then squat down, stand back up, release the weight all the way to the floor, jump your feet back into plank position, do a push up, jump back in, and repeat again. Immediately after the first set, you do 24 alternating shoulder presses, and then jumps with the dumbbell in you hand for 30 secs. The difficulty increases on each set. I fatigued on the 6 rep of my third set of the power movements. Not bad for day 17. My goal is to finish all 3 next time on day 24.
Day 18 – Relief
Lets just say that Relief comes at the right time. The body is shot.
My wife asked me what I will be doing after I complete my 30 day Asylum workout. I may do it again, but I may do a Insanity/Insanity Asylum Hybrid. That will be kind of crazy. As they say in business, TBD.
